WHERE I COME FROM

I was raised the middle of seven children on a rural property near the small town of Drain, Oregon.  I enjoyed school, sports, outdoor activities,

and a long distance running career stretching from middle school through the University of Oregon where I achieved a varsity letter and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

A THRIVING CAREER

I taught school for 32 years during which time my wife and I raised three sons and a daughter.  I also coached track and field for 17 years, several years of high school cross country and a couple of years of middle school basketball.  Outside of school, I was Troop 189 Boy Scout master for three years.

My wife and  I also owned and operated a trophy/hat/t-shirt business and a Christmas tree growing/wholesale/retail operation where I

learned the importance of budgeting and  fiscal responsibility.

MISSION STATEMENT

If elected to the Sisters School Board, thus becoming a person of influence over school policy, I will explore current policy and lay it up against my 43 years of public education experience to determine whether or not the policy is effective in achieving the desired outcome, which is to create the best possible education for the school children to become productive, self-sustaining, freedom loving citizens enjoying the American dream.
